I have reproduced it too, in 14.04 dock station (with display/s connected) hangs the laptop and it doesn't even boot if it's docked. But HDMI seems to work perfectly.
In 16.04 beta 2, connecting/disconnecting an HDMI display hangs the laptop. When it's connected to the dock while it's running it uses to hang too, but it sometimes works, or hangs after some seconds. It seems to work fine if no change is done in displays configuration while it's running. So the general situation improves a bit, except for HDMI that is worse in 16.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1560524 Title: Latitude E7470 crashes in DRM driver after connecting to DELL EPORT docking station To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1560524/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
