If you installed steam from here, http://store.steampowered.com/about/, then on first run it tries to install 'libgl1-mesa-dri:i386 libgl1-mesa- glx:i386 libc6:i386'. If you install the appropriate packages for your HWE stack first, e.g. sudo apt-get install libgl1-mesa-dri-lts-wily:i386 libgl1-mesa-glx-lts-wily:i386, then you can successfully run steam. To find out what HWE stack you have installed you can use the following command:
dpkg -l | grep ii.*-lts Regardless, this (the steam application manually trying to install packages) is not something we the developers of Ubuntu can fix so I'm setting this to Invalid. ** Changed in: mesa (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1424263 Title: steam deb file isn't aware of HWE stacks To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/1424263/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
