Public bug reported:

When application Y consumes a lot of memory and is killed by the kernel,
the trackpad almost does not work anymore (does not respond to taps,
very slow) because the xinput properties are reset to default. I have to
manually find out the commands and restore the xinput properties that
make the trackpad usable.

Expected behavior: xinput properties are persistent.
