I am just now affected by this bug, using a DisplayPort monitor for the first time.
OS: Ubuntu 17.04 x64 Kernel: 4.10.0-37 X.Org X Server : 1.19.3 Monitor 1: 1920 x 1080 - Laptop's Native Monitor Monitor 2: 1920 x 1080 - DisplayLink (USB-C) connected MB16AC ASUS Monitor In an interesting twist: my cursor flickers on both screens, but far more often on my laptop screen. On my laptop screen, the cursor flickers about 10 times/second.
