** Description changed: Binary package hint: xorg General info: Dell E6400 Laptop Graphics: "Mobile IntelĀ® GM45 Express Chipset" Connected Monitors: LVDS + LCD Reproduce path: 1. Open gnome-display-properties 2. Enable second monitor (LCD) 3. Don't use screen mirroring 4. Set maximum screen resolutions for both monitor 5. Apply settings Results: 1. Both monitors can be set to their maximum resolution 2. Though the Virtual Screen size is set to 1024x768 (way to small) while maximum allowed Virtual Screen size is way bigger 3. The mouse is at first not able to leave the 1024x768 box at the primary monitor 4. After opening for example gnome-terminal, it's possible to move the gnome-terminal all the way to the second monitor 5. Unfortunately the desktop background is only visible in the 1024x768 box on the primary monitor. ( And partly strangely visible on the second monitor ) 6. Moving gnome-terminal back to first monitor leaves traces of the gnome-terminal on the second half part or so on the second monitor xrandr: Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1024 x 768, maximum 3040 x 1200 xorg.conf: Virtual 3040 1200 Thanks, Amain ProblemType: Bug Architecture: amd64 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04 NonfreeKernelModules: wl Package: xorg 1:7.4~5ubuntu18 ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=nl_NL.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersion: Linux version 2.6.28-15-generic (bui...@yellow) (gcc version 4.3.3 (Ubuntu 4.3.3-5ubuntu4) ) #52-Ubuntu SMP Wed Sep 9 10:48:52 UTC 2009 SourcePackage: xorg Uname: Linux 2.6.28-15-generic x86_64 + + [lspci] + 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Memory Controller Hub [8086:2a40] (rev 07) + Subsystem: Dell Device [1028:0233] + 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:2a42] (rev 07) + Subsystem: Dell Device [1028:0233]
