** Description changed: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-radeonhd When I force "radeonhd" as the driver in /etc/X11/xorg.conf (as opposed to "vesa") X fails to start. Running a Radeon X1550, hoping to get 3D accelerated video working. My system stops responding, I can't switch to text consoles. ctrl-alt- del still triggers a reboot however. Running Karmic. + + [lspci] + 04:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: ATI Technologies Inc RV505 CE [Radeon X1550 64-bit] [1002:715f] + Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Device [1043:01ce]
