note: this is the same box as above; but now 18.10 a two line radeon error message appeared on the screen (near top left), both lines were then repeated, then a reasonable delay (of seconds) then login screen & new session. AUTHENTICATION FAILED; i ran under as me, and not `sudo`. *.crash copied (-p) to directory //because of authentication failed; I also `sudo ubuntu-bug` the first xorg one in case the authentication failed meant something.. the red error messages stood out & i missed out the "incident report" @ the bottom, sorry.
