Hi. I faced a similar issue and when I tried to add "scsi_mod.scan=sync" to /etc/default/grub and then run update-grub I got the following error: /usr/sbin/grub-mkconfig: 36: /etc/default/grub: scsi_mod.scan=sync: not found
