Going back to your JournalErrors.txt:

Oct 23 08:21:34 hostname /usr/lib/gdm3/gdm-x-session[1533]: (WW) RADEON(0):
Page flip failed: Invalid argument
Oct 23 08:21:34 hostname /usr/lib/gdm3/gdm-x-session[1533]: (EE) RADEON(0):
present flip failed
Oct 23 08:21:34 hostname /usr/lib/gdm3/gdm-x-session[1533]: (WW) RADEON(0):
flip queue failed: Invalid argument

I would like to verify if those errors correlate with the problem. Can
you please run:

  journalctl -f

and see if those errors only occur when trying to drive 3 monitors?

Do the errors go away when only 2 monitors are plugged in?

** Also affects: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu)
