Sorry for taking too long. I've been reporting to the wrong bug. Here's the situation on Beta:
Confirmed: still happens on Karmic Beta. And it's even worse. Worse than Alpha 1! It's freezing before I even get the chance to click on anything. I had the chance only once, and when I opened a window, it freezed. I can't even deactivate the Special Effects to work around. I can't get those logs either.
