*" Is there a way I can downgrade the package (as it was working* * just fine before) at least until karmic is released?"*
In synaptic search for "xserver-xorg-video-intel" (searching in xorg intel would probably be enough, but that is the full name). Highlight the version you have installed, right click and choose "properties". This will bring up a dialog box. Choose the "versions" tab of this will show yo all of the available versions. Close the box after deciding which version you want to switch to. Then click on Package --> Force version install the version you want. After testing and making sure you are happy, highlight the version you want to keep in synaptic and choose Package --> lock version to keep that version from being overridden in another upgrade. You're always free to manually try new versions, or override the latest version by locking in an older version that works better with your hardware. Newer is not always better. You may want to file a new bug report before switching back to an older version. Use the bug reporting tool. It will send info to the DEV team that will help them find the root cause. I hope this helps. Sean On Sat, Oct 17, 2009 at 9:11 PM, mitchcyber <aboutblan...@gmail.com> wrote: > This is a little confusing.
