Hi, I have exactly the same problem on my dell inspiron 6400.
I'm running a karmic-beta, upgraded yesterday from jaunty. kernel version: 2.6.31-14-generic xserver-xorg-video-intel version: 2:2.9.0-1ubuntu2 Xorg.log, xorg.conf and lspci output attached. After putting the machine into stand-by state and waking it up, the lcd is visible again. Please tell me if you need more info.
