Just to let people know: i've got an ACER ASPIRE 1350 used metod reported by modemlamer, with some different steps, just follow commands down here.
first of all, manually configure your network address (lots of guides on the web, basically ifconfig stuff) then type sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf and add those lines (deleting previous device, monitor and screen sections) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Section "Device" Identifier "VIA Technologies, Inc.
