This also happens on Ubuntu 22.04 beta (x86_64). I have a workaround
which appears to overcome the graphics corruption problems on this
system...

Using information gleaned from:-
https://linuxconfig.org/how-to-disable-blacklist-nouveau-nvidia-driver-on-ubuntu-20-04-focal-fossa-linux

I performed these commands:-
sudo bash -c "echo blacklist nouveau >
/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-nvidia-nouveau.conf"

sudo bash -c "echo options nouveau modeset=0 >>
/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-nvidia-nouveau.conf"

And ensured that /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-nvidia-nouveau.conf contained the
right informaiton:-
cat /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-nvidia-nouveau.conf

And the file should contain:-
blacklist nouveau
options nouveau modeset=0

Then this command is used to finish things off.
sudo update-initramfs -u

Then I rebooted and the graphics corruption appears to be eliminated.
