On Linux you have two or three graphics drivers all working at the same
time at different levels:

 * Kernel: i915
 * Mesa: iris
 * Xorg: modeset (replaces the old "intel" driver)

To confirm which Xorg driver is in use you can find it in the Xorg
system log messages:

  journalctl -b0 /usr/bin/Xorg

There should be "modeset(0)" messages instead of "intel(0)".
