The attached files show that the kernel does indeed have an 'nvidia'
driver but it's not being used for some reason. And Xorg, as of Dec 11
at least, does not have any knowledge of an Nvidia card.

Please run:

  lspci -k > lspci.txt
  journalctl -b0 > journal.txt

and attach the resulting text files here so we can see more up to date
information.

Please also open the 'Additional Drivers' app and verify that it shows
an Nvidia driver is currently in use.
