Public bug reported: Quoting from an upstream PR at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/merge_requests/36540:
> ANGLE is completely broken on certain vendors, see > https://issues.angleproject.org/u/1/issues/431097618. > This started to show > up in most distro builds of chrome/ium 138 (but depends, I think, on which > ANGLE version is used?) and now starting to show up in various electron apps. > There are probably more electron apps to list, so let me know what I've > missed, and I'll add 'em. I'm not sure if there is a better way (for gl) to > catch every chromium based thing that uses ANGLE. We are hitting this on all Qualcomm Snapdragon hardware on Ubuntu, anything Chrome or Electron based seems to be affected. A workaround would be forcefully changing the GL_VENDOR for known broken applications as proposed in the PR linked above. ** Affects: mesa (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: mesa (Ubuntu Plucky) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: mesa (Ubuntu Questing) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: mesa (Ubuntu Plucky) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: mesa (Ubuntu Questing) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2121774 Title: ANGLE causes rendering issues on freedreno To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/2121774/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
