I'm also having this problem, but only the touchpad part. The Synaptics touchpad on my Dell Latitude D530 is not detected anymore after the upgrade to 9.10 . It worked perfectly in Jaunty.
No sign of synaptics in lspci, lshal or dmesg ... tpconfig does detect the synaptics touchpad though ...
