I have done so, but the problem persists. The reason I had an xorg.conf file at all is because I ran the command, "Xorg -configure" in the hope that it would help resolve this problem and because the line "(EE) Failed to load module "i810" (module does not exist, 0)" appeared in /var/log/Xorg.0.log.
I will post the most recent /var/log/gdm/:0.log and /var/log/gdm/:0.log.1 so that you can see the difference between the pass and fail. Note, the pass (:0.log) only occurs once I've switched to a different console before the spash screen goes dark. ** Attachment added: "Failed gdm xorg start log." http://launchpadlibrarian.net/34996465/%3A0.log.1 -- gdm crash/restart loop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/471844 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
