I have the same problem on my ThinkPad X40 (same chipset as reported in this bug), it's reproducible by either a suspend/resume cycle or by leaving the laptop idle long enough to where the backlight is turned off. I can confirm that this is a regression introduced by 9.10, this was working correctly in 9.04.
-- [i855] When trying to resume from suspend mode, the backlight does not turn on. I can see that the desktop is alive looking closer. Only rebooting brings back my backligt. It's a Sony Vaio VGN-B1XP machine with Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device (rev 02). https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/441272 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
