After re-reading the 64-bit stuff I downloaded the b4-bit Karmic live CD. Running the Live CD "as is" the only displays available were 640x480 and 800x600 on restart entering the boot command "nomodeset" the following display resolutions were also available: 1360x768, 1152x864 (default), and 1024x768. I am attaching the results of xrandr --verbose and the Xorglog.
I am starting to think this monitor works best on 4:3 resolutions on linux and 4:5 on windows, as on my XP Pro partition the "default" resolution is 1280x1024 with all the 4:3 resolutions appearing "warped". ** Attachment added: "Xorg log from 64-bit Live CD" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/35088958/64xorglog -- [i965Q] screen resolution only "sees" 640x480 and 800x600 since Karmic fresh install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/470224 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
