It sounds like for whatever reason, the driver failed to build properly
(perhaps bug 450493 or bug 434154 but could be anything) and jockey did
not propagate the error up (bug 451305) and set nvidia up to boot.
Since it failed to build, it fails to boot.  Unfortunately the logs for
the boot failure don't explain the build failure.

I think it is likely each person on this bug report may be having a
separate issue, so I would ask everyone but stevie to file a separate
bug report.

Stevie, are you still experiencing the issue?  If so, can you attach
your jockey, apt, and dpkg log files?  You can find them in /var/log.
