Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

Monitor is NEC Multisync 97F, xorg cannot probe any usable graphics
modes automatically. Manual configuration of Xorg.conf allows use of
higher resolutions but only if monitor is off or disconnected during
startup. After manual configuration of xorg.conf startup complains of
graphics memory limitations if monitor is on and connected during
startup.

Video card is Matrox MGA G200 AGP.
