I followedthe guide to create the file 10-linuxaiptek.fdi, in the directory 
/usr/share/hal/fdi/policy. 
Hovering above the tablet works until the first click (either tip or button) 
from then on it works mouse like (relative), clicks don't do anything 
noticeable from then on (no selecting or drawing possible). As the document 
states:"Some tablets (6000U, 12000U, 14000U) seems to use Wacom drivers, if you 
experience problems with button presses (Your mouse pointer freezes), but you 
can move the cursor try the updated packets for Wacom." I removed the 
xserver-xorg-input-aiptek package but this didn'change anything. Still the 
aiptek kernel module is being loaded and the results remainthe same.
I have an Aiptek 12000U tablet.
