Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
I'm using a TV as a display via DVI addon PCI-card (SDVO; Silicon Image MAIA ADD2-R DUAL PAD x16 card; Model Sil1364 DVI ADD2-R) from DVI output to HDMI input. The computer is HP Compaq dc7100 SFF with Intel 915G Express chipset with Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900. The gnome-display-properties believes that my display is LG Electronics 42", although it is 26" LG 26LC2RA. There is only one resolution to be chosen: 720x480. The desktop goes over all of the edges of the display, so that vertically only half ot the Gnome panels can be seen if the desktop is aligned in center. According to LG manual: * Recommended: 1360 x 768 at 60 Hz for model 26LC2R* HorizSync 47.7 (KHz) VertRefresh 59.8 (Hz) * Generally for DVD player use 1280 x 720 Currently, most of the windows don't fit into the screen/Desktop and cannot be scaled, so they have to be looked at in several so called workspaces/virtual desktops, which is very complicated...
