Some workaround is to change /etc/X11/xorg.conf to: Driver "vesa" # Driver "intel" (of course, that's only possible by booting an old version using a USB stick!) and to append "nomodeset" to the kernel boot line in grub. AFAICS, both of them are required. Unfortunately, this means of course, that you'll end up with a blurry screen and no accelerated graphics Cheers, Reinhold -- ------------------------------------------------------------------ Reinhold Kainhofer, reinh...@kainhofer.com, http://reinhold.kainhofer.com/ * Financial & Actuarial Math., Vienna Univ. of Technology, Austria * http://www.fam.tuwien.ac.at/, DVR: 0005886 * LilyPond, Music typesetting, http://www.lilypond.org -- After upgrade to karmic, Xorg will boot with display blank, and no reaction to keypresses (e.g. Alt+Ctrl+1 shows no reaction) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/484900 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-evdev in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
