I have this issue on my Acer Extensa 5635G.  Looking at the Xorg.0.log,
it seems that the proper mode of 1366x768 at 60Hz is being discarded
with this motivation:

Mode is rejected: This mode's horizontal sync end (1446) exceeds the
horizontal total size (1437).

After some experimentation, the fix (on my machine) was easy.  Attached
is my entire xorg.conf, the important line of which is the
ModeValidation option.  This disables the specific check that failed
above.  See the documentation for the nVidia driver for details.

Note that I'm running driver version 190.42, but considering the nature
of the problem, this may well apply to the older version pulled in by
Jockey.
