I think this is the bug I had.. And I also thinks it has something to do with the window manager or window themes. Hitting "Alt+F2" and entering "metacity --replace" sometimes fixed the issues I had. So I tried installing XFCE instead of GNOME as it uses another window manager. I've had no problems so far.
