Public bug reported: ubuntu version: Ubuntu 9.10 (doesn't really matter, have this bug since 8.04) fglrx version: 2:8.681-0ubuntu1
After having read many reports about flickering when compiz is enabled (and my problems with it) I completely uninstalled it. I also uninstalled all xorg-video drivers except for the vesa, fb, and fglrx. The screen will flicker sometimes, this will also make the system lag. Problem can be observed: - after entering my password and the desktop loading (flickers ~3 times) - when starting totem (flickers ~1 time) - when starting an app with wine (flickers ~10 times) - when starting some games (tuxracer, supertux, ...; usually ~1 time) ** Affects: fglrx-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [HD3870] black flicker on login, starting totem, starting app with wine, games (opengl?), WITHOUT compiz https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/501144 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
