Here's one thing that I do a lot that's a bit non-standard, perhaps it has some effect.
I create a mongo eclipse window that spans 2 twinview screens. I can say that every time that it's happened, that eclipse window has been there. (As well as a lot of other stuff...) -- X server crashes with "Saw signal 11.
