I had this bug on Jaunty too, with the same graphics chipset as nicklondon28. It still happens on Karmic (same hardware, clean install). I can run GE by using xorg.conf.failsafe, which loads the "vesa" driver instead of the default "intel". It's slower, of course, but otherwise perfect.
Nostalgic note: Several Ubuntu versions ago, I used to get full acceleration using the "i810" driver. Unfortunately that driver was dropped and, although there are some posts out there describing how to install it, I haven't been able to get it working. -- Google Earth crashes computer on startup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/368032 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
