You have been subscribed to a public bug: Scrolling using the right and lower edge of the trackpad makes the area of the trackpad actually usable to move the mouse very small. Add to this that when you're trying to move a window as in bug #39328 if you press to low on the trackpad it makes you scroll between windows. The same problem occurs in KDE if you select a window in the KDE-bar and then move your mouse up to the program, but hit the the lower parts of the trackpad.
Replacing the edge scrolling way of scrolling with the two finger scroll will solve both these bugs and is very commonly used with modern devices, such as mobile phones, thus comes very natural to a new user. This function/way of scrolling is already implemented and should be enabled by default. ** Affects: hundredpapercuts Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Affects: linuxmint Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: double-finger scroll synaptics touchpad two-finger -- trackpad-doublefinger-scroll https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/487749 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
