This behavior just started for me in Lucid with recent updates on my
dell inspiron 6000. I've noticed that if I tell the laptop to suspend
via the power menu the system operates as normal. But if I close the lid
the screen blanks the laptop doesn't go in to suspend and there is no
way to wake the screen back up. I have to hard reset.
