After adding the PPA and installing the new kernel stuff under karmic Webots still freeze the graphical system. I checked glxgears to make sure, that 3D still works in general.
Unfortunally, I could not get any useful error messages when trying to collect them by the instructions of https://edge.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-freeze-test . So I don't know whether this is the same bug or something different.
