I tested with 2.4.17-0ubuntu2+freezefix~gomyhr1 in lucid and the error message at boot from comment #10 had disappeared, but I think the GPU hung (I wasn't there at the moment, but "the computer hung again"). I now seem to have upgraded past the revision of the ppa and I am on 2.4.18-1ubuntu2 (where I believe the patch is already in?) and here I definitely get a GPU hang. --- Feb 27 16:32:41 kubuntu-test ntpdate[5766]: step time server 91.189.94.4 offset 0.714960 sec Feb 27 16:32:44 kubuntu-test wpa_supplicant[646]: CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-RESULTS Feb 27 16:33:24 kubuntu-test wpa_supplicant[646]: CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-RESULTS Feb 27 16:34:24 kubuntu-test wpa_supplicant[646]: CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-RESULTS Feb 27 16:34:50 kubuntu-test kernel: [ 7820.280028] [drm:i915_hangcheck_elapsed] *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... This "Hangcheck" message has been in lucid every time it hung. I can't say for certain that I ever triggered it before being in standby at least once (in lucid). Since the behaviour in lucid is that X is restarting and then the computer completely locks up, I can't ssh in to the machine for further debug info. -- [i915gm] [i915gm] [jaunty, karmic] X freezes every day or so https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/438346 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
