So, using the installer provided at the repos, the driver version 173.xx fails too. Before update the xserver-xorg, the nvidia-glx-173 provided package has no problems, but after the update, it fails. This is not a problem with the installer, but with the xserver-xorg-core package itself.
When I did the update, it reported an error like was impossible to remove a file related to the nvidia-glx-173 package...
