Public bug reported: I am running an alpha version of lucid: I currently have a bug with the nouveau driver, to temporarily boot back into a workable system i am trying to avoid loading this broken driver. I have edited my /etc/xorg.conf file as attached to only load the VESA driver.
upon booting the system it instead ignores my wishes and loads the built in configuration: (==) Using default built-in configuration (39 lines) (==) --- Start of built-in configuration --- This is a regression in behaviour and is dangerous as in my case it loads a driver other than the one i specified and i am left with a system that does not boot correctly. ** Affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- default built-in configuration is used even though i have created an xorg.conf https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/538694 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
