** Description changed: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel This happened after upgrading my system from karmic to lucid. I can't use my external monitor at full resolution (1920x1080) the maximal available resolution is 800x600 :-S. k...@kedz:~$ xrandr Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 2240 x 900, maximum 8192 x 8192 VGA1 connected 800x600+1440+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 477mm x 268mm 800x600 85.1 72.2 75.0 60.3 56.2* 640x480 85.0 75.0 72.8 59.9 720x400 85.0 640x400 85.1 640x350 85.1 LVDS1 connected 1440x900+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 304mm x 190mm 1440x900 60.2*+ 59.9 1360x768 59.8 1152x864 100.0 85.1 85.0 75.0 75.0 70.0 60.0 1024x768 85.0 75.0 70.1 60.0 832x624 74.6 800x600 85.1 72.2 75.0 60.3 56.2 640x480 85.0 72.8 75.0 59.9 720x400 85.0 640x400 85.1 640x350 85.1 DP1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) but, in xorg log i can see my monitor proper resultion: (II) intel(0): Modeline "1920x1080"x0.0 148.50 1920 2008 2052 2200 1080 1084 1089 1125 +hsync -vsync (67.5 kHz) and there is a weird message: (II) intel(0): Not using default mode "1920x1080" (monitor doesn't support reduced blanking) What is this? can't i force somehow to use this mode? Btw, i tried an another monitor, (its an older LCD panel, and i can use its maximal resolution 1680x1050).... And the weird thing is everything worked fine before update to lucid... When i booting up my machine with connected external monitor, it is not usable too, monitor says "invalid hsync value" :-S (i use encrypted rootfs i havent tried the booting without splash... i'll try it...) I'm not sure about whether its a xserver-xorg-video-intel problem, maybe it is some DRM/kernel related issue...
