Sorry, by adding the parameter "radeon.new_pll=0" to the kernel command line the problem is not solved. I will upload a new set of logs with apport-collect immediately.
If I remove the "splash" parameter from the command line Ubuntu boots without flicker (and much faster). Best regards! ** Description changed: Hi, I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T500 with an ATI Radeon Mobility HD 3650 graphic card onboard. I activated this card via BIOS and launched Ubuntu 10.04 (AMD64) via grub. As it seems the TFT is now activated and deactivated every two seconds. This stops when I have to enter my LUKS password for harddrive encryption. Every keystroke causes this problem again. After finished entering the password the flicker continues until the login screen is shown. After this I have no further problems. It seems to me that the display is really deactivated; it is totally black with no backlight. Hope that helps.
