Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg
I have a recurring problem on Lucid - reproducible two different computers. I lock my screen or/and leave my computer unattended. The screen goes black or displays "Out of range" and does not come back to the desktop, or to the password prompt when I move my mouse or type on the keyboard. I still have ssh access to the box. These computers are not are set to suspend, and even if they were to suspend I would not be able to access them through ssh. I believe this is an issue with gnome-screensaver, gnome-power-manager or xorg. Also see the following bugs for useful apport information: Bug #547166 (gnome-screensaver) Bug #547167 (gnome-power-manager) Bug #547169 (xorg) ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Thu Mar 25 14:56:10 2010 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: xorg 1:7.5+3ubuntu1 ProcCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-2.6.32-17-generic root=/dev/mapper/hostname-root ro quiet splash ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-17.26-generic 2.6.32.10+drm33.1 SourcePackage: xorg Uname: Linux 2.6.32-17-generic i686 dmi.bios.date: 06/05/2006 dmi.bios.vendor: Intel Corp. dmi.bios.version: MQ96510J.86A.0372.2006.0605.1717 dmi.board.asset.tag: Base Board Asset Tag dmi.board.name: DG965MQ dmi.board.vendor: Intel Corporation dmi.board.version: AAD37419-102 dmi.chassis.type: 2 dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnIntelCorp.:bvrMQ96510J.86A.0372.2006.0605.1717:bd06/05/2006:svn:pn:pvr:rvnIntelCorporation:rnDG965MQ:rvrAAD37419-102:cvn:ct2:cvr: system: distro: Ubuntu codename: lucid architecture: i686 kernel: 2.6.32-17-generic ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 lucid -- Screen goes black when unattended and does not return https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/547169 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
