I have grabbed all the latest updates and tried to reproduce the problem. Now when I close my lid it goes to sleep. It used to shut down upon the crash. Now when I open the lid it properly wakes up, except I'm back at the login screen, not back to my logged in session. I don't get an xorg crash report.
