Would it be possible for you to boot without setting nouveau.noaccel=1
and then collecting the relevant logs?  Sometimes VT switching still
works, or you can SSH into the system even though X has frozen.

We've got reports of the NVac chips working fine with acceleration, so
there's something different about your case.  The logs when everything
has failed might help us determine what.
