I installed the http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/drm-intel- next/current/linux- image-2.6.34-997-generic_2.6.34-997.201004031148_amd64.deb Kernel (and both applying header debs).
Unfortunately the screen remained black after booting, no bootsplash screen, no gdm, no response on CTRL-ALT-F1, nothing. But I could ssh into the machine (which was completly booted) and collect the usual messages and dumps.
