Incidentally, this system boots properly with the correct screen resolution from the live CD for the Cuban Nova Linux 30012009 V1 (BAIRE-1.1.2-30012009-V1) which I downloaded today. This is a Gentoo- based distro. It appears to use an openchrome driver for this Averatec system. I've attached a tar file with some logs and xorg.conf
