I have this bug (turning brightness up and down with Fn F10 and Fn F9 does not work) on both up-to-date ubuntu with fglrx and kubuntu with opensource driver on HP 6930p with ATI 3450. radeontool regmatch '*' produces on both systems only this:
mapping ctrl region without any other messages. I was testing lucid from alpha 3 and this never worked for me.
