See attached image for best description. For about the last week, say
starting 19 April, my desktop has been consistently shifted to the right
by ~512 pixels (interesting number that 512). The attached graphic shows
a screen shot taken that has a 1920x1200 monitor "on top" and a 1280x800
monitor "on bottom". The left ~512 pixels of the desk show the "after
image" of windows that have opened in that area. Where it gets
interesting is that for some image, such as the quick launch, there will
be several images shown as the window shrinks or grows.
Windows opened on the left 512 pixels are clickable, etc. just the
desktop has been shifted.
Is shifted regardless of booting with computer in docking station hence
giving the desktop described above or when booting without the docking
station.
Area remains when resolution is reduced at about 512 pixels (really
doesn't work well when set to 640 x 480 :-).
Dell D630 with Intel GM965/GL960 graphics.
Lucid Lynx 10.04 LTS with all updates.
Have tried booting with and without KMS. Only difference observed
without KMS is that the mouse cursor was not visible.
