Maybe you didn't hold shift down early enough Vilius? Works for me. I
can then choose from two kernels. I choose the earlier one, and not the
recovery mode options. Choosing a recovery mode option means I then have
to further select a recovery display (I forget what that subsequent
option was called) to get a less good display resolution, whereas if I
just select a previous kernel (only two are on offer to me) I eventually
get to my best display (after some heart-stopping messages about cannot
mount, and doesn't exist, and then nothing, and then finally a screenful
of scrolling text, before a decent launch of 10.04).

Be nice if they do eventually manage to fix this, but I can work with
it, sort of... with my Intel 855 card
