This seems to be related to this Xorg driver bug: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8732
Apparently, enabling dri2 and uxa is a workaround, but end users neither know that they must do this nor do they know how to. Ubuntu can work around this bug by enabling dri2 and uxa in the distro. ** Bug watch added: freedesktop.org Bugzilla #8732 http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8732 -- ATI graphics driver has trouble with 3D apps: Celestia, Google Earth, Stellarium https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/571771 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
