You seem to have the nvidia binary drivers installed - and they were installed for your Xorg.0.log.old, too. Did you install them deliberately? If so, did you install them using System→Administration→Hardware Drivers, or via another method?
The nvidia binary drivers won't work without an xorg.conf. The other problem appears to be that you don't appear to have the vesa or fbdev drivers installed. They should be installed by default - did you deliberately remove them? -- boot fail without xorg.conf file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/575081 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
