Yep, that's the modeline in my current xorg.conf (bug attachment "xorg.conf that works for twinhead twinmate e10").
I'll keep using it and let you know if there is anything out of the ordinary. Don't really know what I'm looking for concerning the "unstable instance" but hopefully it's a case of "you'll know when it happens" :D Cheers everyone!
